After spending the winter preparing thoroughly for the start of the season, Puglia-born driver Pietro Delli Guanti returned to competition last weekend at the first round of the Italian GT Championship held at the Marco Simoncelli circuit in Misano. Confirmed by Team Tresor following his excellent performances in 2023 in the Fanatec World Challenge, the Foggia-based driver is tackling this year’s national series promoted by ACI Sport with the aim of aiming for success. In the season opener, Delli Guanti, alongside new teammate Mazzola, immediately proved up to the task by securing a second place (overall and in the GT3PRO category) in Race 2 and narrowly missing the podium (P4) in Race 1, which certainly provides a strong foundation for the rest of the season. Delli Guanti also came close to setting the fastest lap in both races, once again demonstrating his speed and consistency. A good start therefore for the 2024 season, where he will surely be a protagonist in both the Sprint and Endurance series.
Pietro Delli Guanti: “It’s been a good start to the season. With my teammate Mazzola, we did our best to secure a double podium, but we managed it only in Race 2. The championship level is high with many strong teams and drivers, but I am confident that we can be very competitive throughout the season, and our goal is obviously to podium in every race.
Pietro Delli Guanti’s next competitive commitment will now be the Misano race in the World Challenge Sprint, where he will drive the Lambo Huracan GT3 for Team GSM alongside Butti. An opportunity for the talented Puglia-born driver to return to the prestigious international series.”
